Crane workbox compliance checklist

Crane workbox compliance checklist

  • Crane used must be of equal or greater capacity than 1400kg (STATED ON COMPLIANCE PLATE)
  • Compliance plate with capacities and masses must be fitted
  • The door must be self closing and self locking
  • Handrails must be fitted inboard of the cage side rails
  • Height safety harnesses must be worn - provision for attachments is provided.
  • Workboxes must be load tested to 2.2 times the WLL and stability tested to AS 1418.17
  • Workbox designs must be registered with state Work Cover or OH&S authorities in most states.
  • Sling sets used with workboxes must be dedicated solely to a particular work box.

Forklift workbox compliance checklist

  • Forklift used must have hydraulics limited to 0.6m/s lowering speed with the flow control device rigidly connected to the mast cylinder
  • Counterbalanced forklifts used must have capacity at least 5 times the combined mass (= TARE + WLL)
  • Dual independent locks must (locking pins or other devices) hold the box on the fork tynes
  • Forklift Personnel Cages must have a mast guard to protect occupants from the fork mast
  • Forklift Personnel Cages must have an inward opening or sliding door that is self closing
  • Forklift Personnel Cages must have a safety sign (compliance plate)
  • Our Forklift Personnel Cages are proof tested
