Design

A. Noble & Son Ltd. has been involved in the design and supply of specialised engineered lifting solutions for many years. We have engineers on staff in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth and this provides great flexibility in responding to unusual or complex requests.

Inspection & Testing

Just as every industry will require custom or highly specialised lifting equipment, every testing and inspection register will include items of lifting gear requiring specialist attention. Sometimes the gear that needs repair requires modification, sometimes it may need replacing and sometimes it may be inherently unsafe without major improvements. Much in-depth knowledge is required in inspection and refurbishment of custom type lifting gear requiring an appreciation of the manufacturing method and the end use application.

Frequently Nobles strip down and NDT customer's own lifting gear as part of a regular maintenance program. This type of attention is highly important where lifting gear is subjected to high loading cycles and heavy loading such as is frequent in the Mining and Metals Processing industries.

This C-Hook (Marked as WLL 10 tonne) was presented to us by a customer following problems with other C-Hooks in their warehouse. It was presented in near new condition, professionally finished and labelled. Closer inspection however, reveals serious design flaws and resultant cracking. Our Engineering Services Include:

• Assessing existing designs.
• Stripping down cleaning and inspecting.
• Assessing suitability for repair of damaged elements.
• Reassembling with new bearings, manufactured parts and replacement shackles and rigging equipment etc. as required.
• Performing NDT examination for cracks and or other flaws.
• Assessing dimensional wear against loading requirements.
• Proof load testing.
• Re-painting, zinc plating,-galvanising or other surface treatments as required.
• Re-applying required signage and markings.

We repair customers own items including:
