The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity for a motivated team-oriented person to join our busy team in Doveton. You will be someone who values safety & working on a wide variety of manufacturing tasks. You will assist in the warehouse from time to time also.

Reporting to the Supervisor you will be an enthusiastic, versatile, & highly organised team player & will be responsible for:

  • Manufacturing & testing of wire rope & chain slings.
  • Cutting, handling, measuring & storage of wire rope.
  • Inspection, repair & testing of lifting equipment.
  • General workshop duties.

What you will bring to Nobles:

  • Current forklift & motor vehicle licence.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Technical &/or trade knowledge of the lifting industry will be highly regarded.

  • Design, manufacture & maintain bespoke lifting & measuring devices.
  • Certified inspections.
  • Height safety inspections (including harnesses, lanyards, etc.) & installations.
  • Lifting gear test, tag & repair.
  • Proof loading testing & reporting.
  • DNV sling test, tag & repair.

What you will bring to Nobles:

  • Previous experience in a mechanical fitting or engineering role.
  • High Risk Licence (Dogging/Basic rigging or higher).
  • Highly motivated & energetic.
  • Able to take direction well.
  • Natural mechanical aptitude.
  • EWP (can be provided).
  • Working at heights (can be provided).

The opportunity:

This is an opportunity for an Overhead Crane Technician (Electrical) with 2+ years experience to join our crane servicing team in Roxby Downs.

FIFO ex Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide OR relocation costs paid to Adelaide and FIFO from Adelaide, 8:6 roster.

What you will be required to do:

You will be a key person at our customer sites ensuring their cranes are serviced to Australian and Nobles standards. You will be passionate about safety and managing risk and will thrive on a challenge whilst always maintaining the highest level of customer service.

In this role you will:

  • Install, test and adjust the electric and mechanical parts of cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of overhead cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
  • Identify the relevant sequences and operations by studying electrical blueprints and circuitry of cranes, hoists and lifting equipment.
  • Measure and plan for installations.
  • Select, cut and connect to terminals, the appropriate wiring or cabling as required.
  • Repair overhead cranes, hoists and lifting equipment by identifying and diagnosing faults using appropriate electrical and electronic instrumentation.
  • Identify, repair and/or replace malfunctioning parts or faulty wiring.
  • Install electrical switchboards.
  • Connect electrical systems to power supply.
  • Test circuit continuity.
  • Complete electronic service reports.

Your key attributes:

If you are a self-starter who loves working both independently and, in a team, this role could be what you are looking for.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be detail orientated. You will be able to work under pressure, multi-task, work autonomously and possess the desire to achieve results within a fast-paced, customer focused environment. You will be provided with additional on the job training.

What you will bring to Nobles:

Essential:

  • Minimum 2yrs experience servicing Overhead Cranes.
  • Electrical licence (unrestricted preferred, restricted considered).
  • C class drivers licence.
  • Motivation to learn and succeed.
  • Be a strong team player.

The following training will be advantageous to your application:

  • Valid working at heights qualification.
  • High Risk EWP licence.
  • Basic dogging qualification.
  • Basic rigging qualification.
  • Understanding of Australian Standards such as AS1418, AS2550.
  • Experience working on heavy machinery.
  • Mine site experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Crane Technician (Electrical) with experience servicing overhead cranes to join our Crane Servicing team.

Work will vary between local Mackay companies, Gladstone Gas Facilities & Central Queensland Mines.

Minimum 38hr week with potential to work large amounts of overtime.

In this role you will:

  • Install, test, adjust & carry out routine maintenance on the electric & mechanical parts of cranes, hoists & lifting equipment.
